Congratulations to the seventh and eighth grade bands for their overall excellent ratings at the District Ten Large Group Performance Evaluation.
The next performance for the 7th and 8th grade band will be on May 6, 2008 where a combined band and chorus concert is planned featuring music from the Great American Songbook. You won't want to miss this event!

Congratulations to the sixth grade band on an outstanding concert! Keep up the hard work!!

A trip to Carowinds for the 7th and 8th grade bands is being planned for May 17. The trip will cost $65.00 per student which includes the bus fare and ticket to Carowinds. Spending money is separate and not included in this price. The deadline for money is April 24, 2008 no exceptions. No refunds will be given. Please check your calendars accordingly. Chaperones will be selected on a first come, first pay basis. Sixteen chaperones are required and the price is $32.50. All payments should be received in either cash, check to CMS or money order form. We can not hold checks. Checks will be deposited the same day they are received.

Sixth graders turn in weekly practice records. In order for a student to receive a 100, he needs to turn in a weekly practice record with a parent signature and should strive to practice three hours per week. These are homework grades and count as 20% of the nine weeks grade.

Please make sure your child is practicing on a regular basis. Tests are given on Tuesdays over material covered in class. This can range from scales to rehearsed musical parts to book work that has been covered. Students should strive to practice three hours per week.

We are still working in our bird sanctuary so any donations are accepted all year! The students use this area for one on one instruction and are enjoying their work as are the birds that eat all the seed that has been donated. Thanks to everyone for their contributions.

Thank you for the continued support. Please check this page frequently for updates.
