We only have 9 days left!!!!
How exciting! But... we (you and me)
need to keep a handle on the
childrens' behavior. You can help me with this by checking
their behavior calendars daily.
This will
show them that they are going to be held accountable at
home for their behavior at school. Thank you for your help with
this!
Our reading story this week is
Montigue on the High Seas
. It
is a story. The spelling words are:
T here are lots of fun ways that you can help your child
prepare for the reading test on Fridays. You should
definitely have your child read the story to you at least once
during the week. Some other ideas are:
have your child retell the story to
you
ask who
the main character(s) are and a description of them
ask
them to draw a scene from the story
ask
about their favorite part and why
ask
factual detail questions about the story.
We are
continuing to finish up our Math books. I am going
to introduce and expect the children
to memorize the 2's and 3's multiplications tables. I will also be
giving them the 5's and 10's this week. They are very excited about
learning multiplication. Please encourage them with
this.
Field Day is this Thursday, May
15th. I would love if you would like to join us for all
the
fun!
We need about 4 more
boxes of Capri Suns if
you are interested in sending any in we would appreciate
it.
Our last PTO meeting will be on Thursday,
May 13th at 7:00.
Carnations for Character is on
Friday, May
16th.
Our luau is on Wednesday, May 21st at
9:30. I am really getting excited about our last
party.
Popcorn Friday's are still going
on. It only cost $.50 and makes a special snack after a
long week. All money from Popcorn Friday's goes to purchase a
new improved playground for our kids which they really need.
The last day of school is May
22nd :)!
Please remember as the sun begins to
stay up later and later that you continue to get your child to
bed at a reasonably early time. They are complaining about being tired and sleepy at school a
lot these days. THANKS :)!
