In this course, students study various systems of the human body and explore the innner workings of a hospital. Students choose a specialty to teach classmates through in-depth research and self-created visual aids.

ENDURING UNDERSTANDINGS
The human body requires a team of systems, working together to keep people functioning. Likewise, medical professionals work as a team to produce quality health care.

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS
- How are the human body systems different from one another?
- What occupations produce medical professionals that form teams in hospitals?
- What partnerships are created within systems?
- How do shortages within hospitals affect the entire system?
- How does a weak system affect other systems in the body?
- What does it take to provide quality health care?
- What does it take to have a healthy body?

SKILLS
Students will be able to:
- identify 6 major systems within the body
- explore various occupations in the medical field
- analyze connections within systems
- explain how shortages and inadequacies affect the system
- discover weaknesses & strengths of health care through research

KNOWLEDGE
Students will understand:
- how to conduct research and collect data
- how team members depend on one another
- the key characteristics of an effective team
- the various components of quality health care
- the different functions of the body systems, and how they interact
