Visual Art/Photography 241-242
This semester the students will use their knowledge and talents gained from the first semester to complete a contract on 14 - 5 x 7 photographs. I will assign four areas: Print Experiment, Detail Features of Architectural Structure, Story Montage and Detail Feature Portrait of Single Person. The student will assign themselves three more areas of study and one alternate. They must complete my four areas of study with two prints each area. Then make two prints from their choice of areas.
They will also make one previously graded print into an 8 x 10 and dry mount it onto mat board for display purposes.
I will continue to teach new darkroom skills and invite guest speakers to discuss the art and business of photography.
This semester they are working independently with re-instruction only when they request it. They must make deadlines with their portfolios or suffer late penalties.
Portfolio deadlines are:
1. Two prints due January 24 complete
2. Two prints due February 13 complete
3. Two prints due March 5 complete
4. Two prints due March 19
5. Two prints due April 4
6. Two prints due April 24
7. Two prints due May 9
Dry Mount due April 18
