Sixth Grade Discipline Plan

In order to guarantee your child and all the students in my classroom the excellent learning climate they deserve, we will be utilizing the following discipline plan. Please take the time to review and sign the attached notice and have your child return it to the Homeroom teacher.
OUR PHILOSOPHY:
We believe all students can behave appropriately in our classrooms. It is essential that students not stop the teaching-learning process by misbehaving. For these and other reasons, misbehavior will not be tolerated.

CLASS RULES:
1. Respect is the rule; the rule is respect.
2. We remember and follow classroom procedures.
3. We keep our hands, feet and objects to ourselves.
4. We come to class prepared.
5. We remain on task.

NEGATIVE CONSEQUENCES:
Warning – RED RULE (Neon Clipboard)
AND/OR Apology Slip; Better Choice Letter with parent signature;
Detention; Parent Conference; Referral to Office

POSITIVE CONSEQUENCES:
Homework Pass, Free Time, Game Time, Link Party, Special Treats i.e. Ice Cream etc.

SEVERELY DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR:
If a student chooses to be severely disruptive, he or she will be referred to the principal’s office immediately. You will be contacted in this event. Please note: FIGHTING OR AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN ANY FORM WILL ABSOLUTELY NOT BE TOLERATED. It will be regarded as severely disruptive behavior.

It is in your child’s best interest that we work together closely in the teaching-learning-discipline process. If behavior problems do occur, we will contact you when necessary. If we do contact you, we urge your prompt and complete support.

Sincerely,

Diane Dymeck
