Are Your Children Home Alone?? |
Columbia County DFCS (Department of Family and Children Services) Guidelines:
*Children eight years and younger should not be left alone;
*Children between the ages of nine and twelve years, based on level of maturity, may be left alone for brief (less than two hours) periods of time; and,
*Children thirteen years and older, who are at an adequate level of maturity, may be left alone and may perform the role of babysitter, as authorized by the parent, for up to twelve hours. |
Test Taking Tips |
Before the test: *Get enough sleep *Eat a good breakfast *Develop a positive attitude
During the test: *Listen carefully to your teacher's directions and comments *Budget your time. Don't get "stuck" on a question. If you don't know the answer, skip it or give it your best guess. *Look for qualifying words. Words such as never, always, rarely, often, seldom, many, and so on determine the correct answer. *Answer easy questions first *Change answers only if you are sure they are wrong *Use all the time allowed. If you finish early, check your paper for errors. Look again at the directions; did you follow them correctly? |
