Your Grades
Grading System:
25% - class work and labs
15% - homework
25% - quizzes
35% - tests
Your semester exam counts 15% of your semester grade. You may exempt this exam if you have:
- no unexcused absences
- no ISS or OSS days
- no unpaid fines
- an 80 or above with no absences OR
- an 85 or above with three excused absences OR
- a 90 or above with five excused absences.

Rules and Policies
We count tardies at the bell. Students should be in their seats when the bell rings. Absences must be excused by a parent note (5 per semester) or a doctor's note.
Food and drink are not allowed in class.
Students are not allowed to leave class for the bathroom, locker or other emergencies without a hall pass. Each student will have four hall passes every nine weeks for emergency use during the class.
Each student is to bring his or her book, notebook, log book and pen/pencil to class every day.
Students are not allowed to use cell phones or portable music players in class. We will confiscate them and turn them into the office if we see them.
There is no talking during teacher time or personal work time. Talk during labs and group times must stay focused on science.
Students may not sleep or put their heads on their desks during class.
I stand behind the dress code and report violations as they occur.
