Things that Parents can do to help their child with Reading:

1. Read to your child nightly.
2. Read assignments to your child to eliminate the reading barier and to work on comprehension.
3. Ask your child questions constantly such as Who, What, Why, When, and How.
4. Take frequent breaks while during homework (about 5 minutes long).
5. Don't get frustrated with your child. Walk away for a minute and try again.
Things Parents can do to help their child with math:

1. Practice math facts.
2. Help with homework, but don't do the homework.
3. Have your child pay and count the change when purchasing items.
4. Talk about the value of money.
5. Talk about saving money and spending money.
6. For older children dicuss the household budget and the importance of staying in your budget.
