A Guide to Success in Spanish

¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español! Please observe the following suggestions for a successful year:
Be prompt, polite and prepared. All rules and regulations set forth in the Evans High School Handbook and Code of Conduct apply in Spanish class as well. There are no exceptions.
1.NO chewing gum, food, drinks, perfume, and scented lotions. Dentention for gum chewing. You may chew gum during the semester exam.
2.NO writing on desk or in textbook. NO copying homework. All involved receive a zero and detention. Book fines will be given for text damage.
3.All papers handed in must include full name, date, class period, and text page and exercise number where applicable.
4.Only use black /blue pens or #2 pencil. Illegible writing will be marked incorrect.
5.All assignments are posted on the smaller white board in the classroom and on the website. NO LATE WORK IS ACCEPTED.
6.Perfect attendance on a test day will add 5 extra points to the test score; flashcards will add 5 extra points on vocabulary quizzes.
7.Five days are allowed for make up work for excused absences. You have 2 days to show me an excused note. After 2 days there are no make ups.
8.School sponsored activities allow for work to be made up; however, you are not counted absent and all work is due immediately upon your return, including previously scheduled tests, quizzes AND HOMEWORK. GET YOUR WORK BEFORE LEAVING.
9.Your 9 weeks grade is based on homework(15%), quizzes (35%) and tests (50%). Along with this guide, you will keep all grades on a grade sheet in your Spanish notebook, a 3 ring binder with dividers for: homework, quizzes, daily work/notes, and grade sheet/guide. No homework is to be kept in the text.
10.Homework is graded for accuracy. Learning Spanish requires the re-inforcement of daily practice in the target language. Complete your assignments thoroughly and conscientiously. That will pay off on the quizzes and tests.
11.Bring your text, notebook and workbook to class each day. Lack of class materials will result in detention. This is your warning.
I have read the above and understand that following these suggestions and rules will greatly enhance my chances for success in Spanish class.
