| Westmont Music Program |
Music classes at Westmont focus on the basic elements of music such as tempo, dynamics, pitch, rhythm, melody, harmony, and form. I incorporate both Orff and Kodaly teaching styles in my music instruction. We also study the history of music investigating various composers and styles of music.
Students begin playing soprano recorder in third grade and continue through 5th grade. We use a program called Recorder Karate. In addition each grade level will perform a musical production during the year.
Kindergarten comes for music instruction for 30 minutes once a week. First and second grades come for thirty minutes twice a week. Third through fifth grades come for 45 minutes once a week.
