RRE is going GREEN
This year the faculty, staff, and students of RRE have made the commitment to live "greener" lives. Each month we will embrace a green habit. By working together and taking small steps we can make a major difference.

RRE is now participating in the Terracycle program. For every drink pouch or Nabisco cookie wrapper we recycle we earn money for our school. What could be better than saving the planet and earning money for it? Please save these items and send them to RRE with your student or pack these items in their lunches and snacks.
Recycling at RRE
This year we will be recycling a variety of items here at RRE. Please save these items and bring them to the school to be reused and/or recycled.

Bring to the lobby of RRE:
Used Crocs (these are sent to a company that turns these into new shoes for third world countries)

Bring to the Cafeteria:
Empty drink pouches (any brand - no straws)
Nabisco cookie wrappers (snack or large size)

Bring to the Art Room:
greeting cards (any occasion)
trays from microwave meals (washed)
bread bags (washed)
scratched/broken CDs and DVDs
fake flowers and fruit
Christmas gift bags

Bring to the Music Room:
bubble wrap
coffee cans with lid (plastic and tin)

Put in the blue dumpster in the back of RRE:
magazines
newspapers
copypaper
*the school makes money when this is emptied

Recycle at home or a local facility (see link to the right):
aluminum cans (fire stations)
plastics (Evans Gov. Center)
glass, batteries, yard waste, electronics, etc.

Pack Eco-friendly Lunches and Snacks
It's easy to pack environmentaly friendly lunches and snacks. Follow these simple tips:
*Use reusable containers instead of ziplock bags
*Bring a water bottle or thermos instead of box drinks
*Use cloth napkins instead of paper (wash clothes work great for napkins and can be purchased for cheap)
*Use a lunch box or bag instead of a paper or plastic bag
