Welcome to a new school year!
My name is Jennifer Powell. I have been teaching for 5 years now, this will be my 6th year teaching. This is my fourth year at SCE. I love teaching and love it here at South Columbia. I have taught Prek -2nd grade. I was in Kindergarten last year and I am very excited to be in 2nd grade now.

Please remember to send in a proof a residency. We need a new updated one for all students. (Thank you to the parents who have sent one in.) We need a gas or power bill with your address on the bill. I will send you back your bill after I have made a copy for our records.
We will be sending your child’s reading book home each day. One way to help your child is to ask comprehension questions about the story. You have seen the format of the reading tests and the types of questions that will be asked, so hopefully this will guide your questions. Also, read only the current story. Please do not let you child read ahead in the book. Thank you for investing valuable time listening to your child read nightly as well as reading to him/her. As you know, the more a child reads the better reader he/she will become.
Parents,
If you do not use the car line at afternoon dismissal, please remember you must come to the corral with your green card to pick up your child. Students will not be released to meet you at your vehicle parked on the road.
