Homework |
| Homework is given so students can practice skills taught in the classroom. Students will be given homework on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Students are expected to write their assignments in their student planners daily. Parents should sign the planner after it has been checked that all assignments were completed. Students who do not complete or return their homework to school the day it is due will do it during their recess time. |
What to Expect |
Parents, please make homework a top priority by scheduling 50 to 60 minutes each day for your child to read, study spelling words, review math facts, and complete any unfinished class work and/or homework. Children need routine and structure to be successful. If your student is having difficulty doing assignments and/or is taking more than a hour every night to complete homework please let me know. Students will read a story out of the Imagine It! textbook each week. We will be discussing and doing activities with that story, the vocabulary, and the related reading strategies and skills. Expect a test over each story and the spelling words on Fridays. A little bit of nightly review throughout the week is best to prepare for assessments given every 5-8 days after beginning a new concept. |
