Hi! I'm Emily Shipe, I am one of two art teachers at Lakeside High School. 2008-09 will be my 10th year at LHS and I look forward to another exciting year. As a teacher, parent and grandparent I understand how important it is for your child to have a good school experience. It is my goal to provide a nuturing environment for the budding artist to emerge and to give the more experiecnced student an opportunity to grow further. I'll be using may methods of assessment. The main thing I look for in their work is an over all improvement.
rules are simple;
Make a mess, clean a mess
Be on time and be prepared
No eating or drinking in the classroom
Respect: yourself

"Studio Time",is every Tuesday from 3-4:30 p.m. This is an chance for students who want to work uninterupted for an extended time the opportunity to do so. Also this gives the student who works at a slower pace a time they can work to catch up. This is extended to any art student that just wants to come work on their project.
Students that need extra help, or need to make up a test can come any morning at 7 a.m. or Mon. and Thursday afternoons at 3 p.m.
Wednesday afternoons is reserved for National Art Honor Society Meetings.
I have an open door policy so if you ever wonder what really goes on in the art room come visit!!
