2008-09 is my 12th year as a Math Teacher:
- This is my 10th year at Evans High School, covering 1999-2009 (I taught two years at Wagener-Salley HS in Aiken County during 1997-1999).
- College Work:
--- BS Degree in Mathematics (Augusta State Univ), and BA Degree in Art (Bellevue Univ, Nebraska).
--- MA Degree in Business (Central Michigan University, while in the Azores).
- I have been married since 1969 (39 years!) and have two daughters and five grandchildren.
- I was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Grant High School in Van Nuys, CA (a short drive from Hollywood, beaches, etc.); then briefly attended L.A. Valley Community College before entering the Air Force during the Vietnam era in 1968.
- I served 26 years in the U. S. Air Force, including:
--- U. S. Air Force Academy (1986-1994) as business manager for Air Force NCAA Programs, including AF Football, facilities operations, personnel contracts, service agreements, and retail operations.
--- Langley AFB, VA (1984-1986) as budget director for the worldwide Airborne Warning & Command System (AWACS) and other air defense programs.
--- Howard AFB, Panama (1980-1984) as budget director for air operations and support in Central and South America.
--- Other assignments (1968-1980) in California, Texas, Nebraska, Mississippi, New York, Alaska, and the Azores.
- Sports Favorites: LA Dodgers, LA Lakers, Univ of Southern California, U. S. Air Force Academy, and Nascar-Team Hendrick.
- Hobbies/Activities: Seeing the grandkids, woodworking, regional travel, photography, art, gardening, and family dogs (springer spaniels and a golden retriever). |
