At Lakeside High School we have a large international student population, and have 21 students representing 7 languages and 9 countries presently in the ESOL department.
New international students entering the district should notify the school to see if they are qualified for our English to speakers of other languages program. If they are, then they will be given the W-APT test to show if they need ESOL and at what level they should study.
Each Columbia County high school has its own ESOL program, and students will attend the school their district school.
Lakeside ESOL is a one-hour English development program with its own academic curriculum. Regular English classes will also be required to comply with graduation requirements in addition to the ESOL program. |
