Welcome to Physics!
Welcome to Physics! I am SO excited about this year! Physics is truly the most awesome course there is. By the end of this course (or hopefully somewhere in the middle) you will begin to see even everyday actions like walking or brushing your teeth as examples of the laws of our physical universe. That is my goal for you as we study this year. That physics will be fun and wonderous. That it will open your eyes to our amazing physical universe....that it will NOT be just a mass of inexplicable formulas and boring math. But I hope that you will also learn that physics is the REASON we do math. Shhhh. Don't tell the math folks.
1st semester: Measurement and Calculation, Vectors, Laws of Motion (Linear), Forces, Nuclear Physics, Circular and Rotary Motion
2nd Semester: Energy, Work, Power, Momentum, Waves (mechanical, sound, heat, electromagnetic), Magnetism, and Electricity
I DO NOT routinely post notes and assignments to my web page. If you are absent and you request, I will send info. specifically to your e-mail. Otherwise, I expect you to attend class daily and actively engage yourself in the process of learning. (It's WAY FUN!) It is YOUR responsibility to ask for what you missed while absent and to make up all work within 5 school days of your return. I also do not post specific course calendars. If my class needs an extra day or so to master some concept, I don't want to be tied to a calendar.
