P.E. Discipline and Consequences
P.E. Rules and Consequences

PE Discipline and Consequences will define the rules and consequences found in the discipline policy for physical education.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION RULES:
1. Listen and follow directions by not talking while the teacher is giving directions.
2. There will be no pushing, hitting, shoving or throwing objects while sitting on the sideline, playing a game, or lining up for dismissal. Students will not throw objects like sticks, rocks, sand, pincones, and sweet gum balls.
3. For safety reasons: no sliding on the gym floor, no screaming in the gym, and keep hands and feet to yourself, etc.
4. Everyone is expected to play by the rules, play all games fairly, and use the equipment properly.
5. Using improper language or gestures toward other students is not acceptable behavior. (Ex. spitting or biting other students)
6. Being disrespectful and rude to others will not be tolerated.
7. Continuous disruptive behavior will not be allowed during class.

CONSEQUENCES:
Prior to students being removed from class activity the teacher will give a verbal warning to:
1. Remind students of the rules posted in the gym.
2. Have a conference with student in the P.E. Office.
Second Offense: Sign the Discipline Book and 20 minutes out of the activity and a behavior note home.
Third Offense: Sign the Discipline Book, sit out of the class activity for that day and behavior note home.
Fourth Offense: Parent Conference either by phone or in person.
Fifth Offense: Student will be sent to the office or library with a written assignment to obtain information about a certain sport for the length of the P.E. class time.
For serious misbehavior, the student will be sent directly to the office.
ALL BEHAVIOR NOTES MUST BE SIGNED AND RETURNED THE NEXT DAY IN ORDER FOR THE STUDENT TO HAVE P.E. CLASS.
Students who choose to sit out of P.E. without a written excuse from parents will LOSE SOME OF THEIR RECESS TIME.

These rules will be discussed in the first weeks of school and throughout the year. We would appreciate it if you would review it together, and then sign the bottom part on the student information slip. Thank you and please contact the P.E. teachers if you have any questions.
