Keep your sunny side up
August-September

We are having lots of fun in the P.E. department. The children are doing great and earning lots of stars for excellent behavior.Everyone is back in the swing of things.

Besides learning about teamwork and responsibility, we have been studying bones and poison prevention. Safe Kids is a new program in Columbia county and we will be incorporating it into our P.E. curriculum. This program includes poison prevention, motor vehicle safety ,water safety, fire safety, choking and suffication prevention, and fire arms injury prevention.

We have been pre-testing all children. Kindergarten and first grades are being tested on the slide, gallop, and skip. The second graders will be tested on throwing and catching skills and fourth and fifth graders will begin being tested on the fitness gram. This test consists of curl-ups,pacer,sit and reach, and pull-ups. This test is administered in the fall and in the spring.
