High School Health |
Semester Course required for graduation. Topics will include alcohol and drug prevention, emotional and mental health, stress management, nutrition, communicable diseases (sexually transmitted diseases), noncommunicable diseases and first aid. |
High School Personal Fitness |
Semester Course required for graduation. Introduction of the importance of physical fitness, its benefits and safety considerations to be followed for a lifetime will be addressed. The first four to five weeks will use the text primarily for a strong foundation. Fitness assessments will occur with continuous training to improve and maintain appropriate fitness levels. Typically students should be prepared to participate in physical activity on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays (dependent on weather). Participation is extremely important |
Middle Grades Health and Physical Education |
| Health Topics and Lifeskills will be the primary focus. Overview and discussion will include topics related to first aid and safety, nutrition, decision making, stress management, communication, drug awareness, communicable and chronic diseases and physical fitness. The fitness unit will lead into the activity portion of the class. |
