Grammar
Each day students are asked to complete a DGP (Daily Grammar Practice) and DOL (Daily Oral Language). These are strategies that review already learned concepts, teach new concepts, and reinforce all grammar concepts each week. These strategies were used in my classroom last year, and I feel that they were a large part of my students' success not only in the classroom but with the CRCT. We will have a weekly DGP/DOL quiz on Friday.

DGP daily concepts:

Monday: Capitalization and Punctuation
Tuesday: Parts of Speech
Wednesday: Subjects, Predicates, and Phrases
Thursday: Clauses, Sentence Types, and Sentence Purpose
Friday: Diagramming

Computer Lab and Media Center
We will visit the computer lab often to conduct research and to practice our online CRCT testing skills. Students will be required to pass each section of the online test with a 75 or better before moving on to the next section.

We will visit the media center every Friday to check-out novels. Students are required to have a novel, magazine, or newspaper in the classroom daily and will be given reading time in class weekly.
