Monday: EQ: What are the required elements and formatting rules regarding annotated bibliographies? Standards: ELA11W1,2,3,4; ELA11C1,2; ELA11LSV1 Vocabulary: Annotated Bibliography Plan: We will be in the lab typing our annotated bibliographies. We will use our annotated bibliography practice sheets as a guide for how to format our annotated bibliographies and include all the elements required for an annotated bibliography.
Tuesday: EQ: What is an outline, and how does this part of process writing help us develop appropriate organizational structure for our American Writer research papers? Standards: ELA11W1,2,3,4; ELA11C1,2; ELA11LSV1 Vocabulary: Outline Plan: The teacher will begin class by explaining what an outline is and how ours is going to function for the American Writer’s project. Students will then begin to work on their outlines.
Wednesday: EQ: What is an outline, and how does this part of process writing help us develop appropriate organizational structure for our American Writer research papers? Standards: ELA11W1,2,3,4; ELA11C1,2; ELA11LSV1 Vocabulary: Outline Plan: Students will continue to work on their outline to prepare for their papers.
Thursday: EQ: What is MLA documentation and how can we apply it to our persuasive outlines? Standards: ELA11W1,2,3,4; ELA11C1,2; ELA11LSV1 Vocabulary: MLA Documentation Plan: The teacher will begin the class by activating student knowledge of MLA formatting and documentation. A power point and guided notes will be used to explain the specifics of MLA formatting and documentation to students. The teacher will model how to incorporate MLA documentation into the outline. Students will use the remainder of class to practice MLA documentation by applying it to their outlines.
Friday: EQ: How can we use our outlines to help us create rough drafts and develop our thoughts and research into manuscript form? Standards: ELA11W1,2,3,4; ELA11C1,2; ELA11LSV1 Vocabulary: MLA Documentation, Manuscript Plan: Students will use their outlines with MLA documentation to begin typing their rough drafts in the lab. Their outlines will help them put their research into manuscript form, while the MLA formatting and documentation notes from Thursday will help them set up (format) their papers.
