Third grade is an exciting time for students and parents. This is the first year that Science and Social Studies are graded subjects. Memorization of multiplication tables is a vital skill that will be enhanced in fourth grade. Students are taught essential reading strategies that help them to become more successful readers. Responsibility is focused on as a life skill.
In the spring, the Criteron Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) is given to each student. All third grade students are required to pass the reading section (800 or above) of this test in order to be promoted to fourth grade.
