Important reminders throughout the school year.... Reading Counts goals are updated monthly...encourage your child to read and take quizzes throughout the week.
The reading log in their homework folder is where your child records the 20 minutes that they read each night. I will take it for an extra 100 Reading grade at the end of the month. Your child will receive this in September.
Signed papers and the newsletter go home on Mondays.
You can find any upcomings with the link to my newsletter on the top left.

Third grade is an exciting time for students and parents. This is the first year that Science and Social Studies are graded subjects. Memorization of multiplication tables is a vital skill that will be enhanced in fourth grade. Students are taught essential reading strategies that help them to become more successful readers. Responsibility is focused on as a life skill.
In the fall, all third grade students will participate in the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). The results of this test allow the teachers to better meet the needs of individual students. In the spring, the Criteron Referenced Competency Test (CRCT) is given to each student. All third grade students are required to pass the reading section of this test in order to be promoted to fourth grade.
