General Homework Information - Check your child's planner nightly!
Reading
Reading is taught through the content areas. Students will learn reading skills and work with these skills on a daily basis.
Please encourage your child to read on a nightly basis. Each student should be working toward meeting their AR goal.
Writing
Students continually work on improving their writing through a variety of writing assessments. Please encourage your child to write in complete sentences and work on parts of speech.
Students are encouraged to perfect their cursive writing ability as well.
Spelling
Spelling Lists are given one week at a time. Students are required to get 50 points a week through their Nifty Fifty activities. They may not do the same choice more than once a week but may reuse activities with each new list of words. Spelling Tests are given on Friday. |
Math
Your child is required to learn multiplication facts 0-12. Please encourage your student to practice these on a daily basis.
Every night your child will have an AM assignment to complete. They will be checked every morning.
Homework relating to the topic being covered in class is done mostly in class. Remaining work is taken home for homework. Please ask your child to see their work on a nightly basis. |
| Science/Social Studies |
Science and Social Studies are being held in three/four week courses this year.
Please encourage your students to study their vocabulary words and reread material from class on a daily basis. |
