Class Rules and Behavior Management
Rules- 1. Follow all directions. 2. Always use your manners-please, thank you, you're welcome. 3. Always do your best. 4. Raise your hand if there is a question or a comment. 5. No talking when the teacher is talking. 6. Use your inside voices. 7. Return all items to their correct place. 8. Respect yourself and others.
Behavior Management- We are using a modified stop light to help monitor behavior. All children are given a verbal warning, then if misbehavior continues to occur, their clip will move to "warning". After the student has received a warning, the clip will move accordingly. Children who stay on green light all week receive a treat or reward from the "Treat Box".
Consequences- Green light- great day Orange light- 5 minute loss of recess Yellow light-15 minute loss of recess Blue light- loss of all recess Purple light- go to office/call parents Red light- opportunity room
We are also giving incentives for good behavior through links. Children are rewarded for walking in the hall quietly and correctly and rewarded links that are put up in the class. Once the class has earned enough links, they are rewarded with various treats. Rewards vary from popcorn parties, ice cream parties or different treats.
Children earn table points as another incentive for good "table" behavior. While working in groups, the children can earn points for following directions, working quietly, or working correctly with their group. Children can also earn points for their table by bringing in box tops, soup labels or tab tops. The points are tallied at the end of the week and the table with the most points earns a treat from our "Table Point Box". |
