Jungle Safari:
This unit examines the tropical rainforest community by investigating the plants and animals as well as the past and present indigenous peoples of this ecosystem. Students will explore the importance of this community to the well-being of the world and how it affects each of our lives. Jungle Safari skills:
Discover and name plants and animals of the rainforest Identify the indigenous peoples of the rainforest Label the parts of the rainforest Explain how the rainforest affects and is affected by the environment Locate the rainforests on a map of the world

The location of rainforests of the world The rainforest is a major contributor to the well-being of the environment The rainforest is home to a unique collection of plant and animal species Like other places in the world, the rainforest has its own indigenous people Man’s misuse of its resources has a significant affect on the rainforest and the world

The focus of this study is a simulation designed around producing a newspaper. Students will gather news as reporter, write new items, edit news stories, draw comics, and produce a newspaper.
