Graduation is the Goal! |
Dear HMS Parents,
I am very excited about the opportunity to work with students at Harlem Middle School in the newly developed position of Middle School Graduation Coach. In this position I will work with students to ensure Georgia's goal of graduating all students on track and on time!
This will be accomplished through various interventions including assuring a smooth transition from elementary school to middle school and from middle school to high school for all students. I will also provide a variety of interventions to students who may be at risk of not completing high school. Parent involvement is very important to your child's success. I look forward to contacting the parents of students on my case load.

Middle School Graduation Coaches Wear Many Hats |
- Meet with teachers, parents, administrators and counselors to identify students that need additonal support in order to be successful in middle school.
- Develop a relationship with these students and their parents.
- Establish an Individual Student Achievement Plan for identified students.
- Provide individual counseling.
- Provide group counseling on specific topics such as conflict and anger management and other social issues.
- Encourage every student to attend school everyday!
- Motivate students to do their best and plan to graduate from high school on track.
- Assist students in the removal of any barriers to academic success and graduation.
- Provide early introduction to college information through GACollege 411. |
