Materials needed: -pencils -erasers -spiral notebook for each subject (paper) -take-home notebook to record assignments |
Every day an assignment sheet goes home in your folder for you to check homework assignments. Please initial at the top. Your child will get his name in the bucket for being responsible and the possibility of earning a treat. Tuesday folders go home every Tuesday with papers from the previous week in it. Keep the papers unless there is a note attached. Please note the behavior sheet on the top.
If your child comes to the Resource Room for a specific subject he/she is NOT required to complete homework in that subject from his regular education class also.
Some of the children are served in a Collaborative setting. This means he/she gets instruction within the regular education class with a special ed teacher there to instruct and assist all students.
Every Friday, after spelling tests, the students write their spelling words for the next week on their assignment sheet. Begin to study over the weekend!! |
Spelling tests are given every Friday. Practice writing sentences throughout the week. You will need to write one or more on every test depending on your grade level.
Reading Renaissance is a big part of the program. One week per month the children read AR books on their level, complete summary sheets and take tests. Often there are projects associated with their books. Some children will be required to complete a daily AR sheet to help them keep up with their reading.
|
Read AR at least 4 days a week for a total of 60 minutes( complete chart if it is sent home). Set aside a time each day for completing homework and reading. Physical activity is a must for mind and body.
