Fourth Grade Discipline Policy |
To guarantee your child and all the students in our classroom the optimum educational climate they deserve, the following rules and consequences will be in effect this year:
Rules: 1. Listen carefully. 2. Follow directions. 3. Work quietly. Do not disturb others who are working. 4. Respect others. Be kind with your words and actions. 5. Respect school and personal property. 6. Work and play safely.
Each child earns "five dollars a week" for coming to school and doing their job. Bonus bucks may be awarded by any teacher throughout the week as positive reinforcement. Teachers will regularly schedule time for students to spend accumlated money. Students are expected to follow classroom rules, thus keeping all their cash.
If a rule is broken or a severe infraction occurs, "a dollar" is paid to the teacher, and the infraction will be noted on his or her weekly progress sheet that is sent home every Tuesday. If multiple or severe infractions occur within a given day, parents will be notified. Walking at recess (for up to 10 minutes) may be used as a consequence if repeated or numerous infractions occur.
Habitual offenders and acts of violence are referred to the principal immediately. We have a zero tolerance for bullying!
The class as a whole can also earn rewards. Compliments are earned for appropriate whole class behavior, and special class rewards will be given by the teacher.
Remember, we are training students to be reponsible, productive citizens!
