PHYSICAL EDUCATION
The Physical Education program focuses on different areas which include sports, movement, fitness and activities. The units are one to two weeks in length. The children are assessed an average of four to six times per marking period. The assessment reflects mastery, satisfactory, needs improvement and not evident at this point.
Students have physical education four times per week. They need to be dressed for active participation. Students should wear tennis shoes and socks and dress in layers during cooler weather. It's a great idea to put your child's name in their sweaters and jackets. If your child is unable to participate or should restrict part of his/her activity please send a note or e-mail.

Please be sure to check out the fun links on the left side of the page!

COMMUNITY PROJECTS

RECYCLING
We want to GO GREEN in our community, so students and staff at Brookwood participate in recycling programs. Newspaper, used printer cartridges and old cell phones can be recycled here at Brookwood. We encourage total community participation with this effort. Newspaper bins are located in the car rider circle; printer cartridges and cell phones are collected by the P.E. department.

COCA-COLA CAPS
Brookwood is participating in the "My Coke Rewards for Schools" program. You may donate coke points on the My Coke Rewards website or send coke caps (any coca-cola product with points on the cap or box) to school and we can log them in. We were able to purchase a new CD/i-pod system for the PE building with points! Way to go Broncos!!! Keep those coke caps coming!

BLOOD DRIVES
Brookwood hosts blood drives during the school year. We donated 18 units in our first fall drive held September 3. Please look for information for the next blood drive which will be held March 11,2010. Students will bring home flyers for donors to sign up prior to each drive. What a great way to model helping others to your children. Please participate and give the gift of life.

WALKMANIA
Walkmania 2009 raised money for the Multiple Sclerosis Walk. Over 400,000 people in the United States alone are effected by this disease. Brookwood teachers and students walked together to help. For more information on this year's walk, go to walkMS.org. Brookwood raised over $3000 for the walk last spring. Way to go Broncos! Plan to walk with us this year to keep moving toward a cure.

BROOKWOOD PLAY VIDEOS
Videos will be available on DVD! Capture your child's performance and help support the P.E. department. Students will bring home purchase information after each play.
