Drama |
Drama is a course designed to engage the imagination of our students. Beginning drama learns improvisation, theatre etiquette, and theatre terms. Generally each class will produce a play a semester.

Advanced Drama |
Advanced drama gives our students the chance to read and produce more plays. Students are encouraged to direct their own plays as well. |
Syllabus for Creative Drama |
Creative Drama introduces the beginning drama student to the vocabulary, etiquette, and traditions of the theatre. Students learn to participate in improvisations, scripted short plays, and children’s theatre. There is an emphasis on teamwork and creativity.
Grading system: 50% of the student’s average is from class work which consists of onstage activities, worksheets, and pop quizzes. 25% comes from major tests, 25% from performances.
Supplies:
Drama notebook, creative thoughts, good attitude, comfortable clothes (we are on the floor a lot!)
- Rules:
Work together and be as creative as you can be!
- Please no gum, food, or drink!
- No talking in the wings or backstage.

Syllabus for Advanced Drama |
Advanced Drama students are expected to display knowledge of the vocabulary, etiquette, and traditions of the theatre. Students participate in more complex improvisations and longer plays which are often performed after school. Students who wish to may direct a play. There is an emphasis on individual excellence in acting as well as on teamwork.
Grading system: 50% of the student's average is from class work which consists of onstage activities, worksheets, and pop quizzes. 50% comes from performances.

Class work: To pariticipate in daily activities on stage Have lines memorized by date set Stay in character during improvs or scripted plays Observe proper theatre etiquette Work on voice characteristics Follow stage directions When not on stage remain focused on the activity and group that is on stage. Be able to give constuctive and specific notes on what is occurring on stage. |
