It is hard to believe this year has come to an end! The Kindergarten children have learned many skills to prepare them for first grade. Review is necessary during summer so the children will not forget the skills learned this year in Kindergarten. Please carefully review items sent home today and enjoy the growth of knowledge your child has gained during Kindergarten.
The Summer Packet needs to be kept in a safe place and reviewed throughout the summer. This packet will provide practice for first grade. If your child did not complete all 29 wordlists and/or 15 little readers, they are included in the packet. Each packet includes worksheets, Summer Packet instructions and Kindergarten Sight Words. As activities are completed in the Summer Packet, please complete the appropriate documentation and return to school next year when your child enters first grade. Completed packets will earn your child a prize!
Journals are a great way to show how much the children have grown during the year. You will be amazed as you read the stories they have written in their journals. Please spend some quality time with your child reading these stories. The children need to continue writing stories during the summer. Allow them to use the rest of the pages in these journals to write journal entries during the summer.
We have enjoyed your child so much this year and are amazed at how much they have learned throughout the year! Have a great summer and remember to review skills for first grade!!
