| Karen Hickman's Biography
| | Hello! My name is Karen Hickman, and I'm honored to be your child's language arts teacher. I come from hardy stock; my father was a coal miner in West Virginia and as the tenth child of the eleventh, was the first to attend college. I graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Journalism Education with a double major in English in 1970. This is my 35th year of teaching (now you know how "young" I am), and I'm still having fun! I have an add-on certification in special education and gifted certification as well as being Advanced Placement certified. I can finally say that I have "Mastered" the language after earning my Masters Degree from Troy University.
