PARENTS INFO!
5th Grade Field Trip is this Friday, May 16. Letter will be coming home this week finalizing the trip and additonal information.
Thanks to all of the parents who contributed to our Spring Basket. The carnival was a huge success and our basket did really well! Thanks to Lynn for putting it all together!
The 5th Grade will be having an end of year cookout on Monday, May 19 from 6:30-8:00. A note will be coming home explaining the activity and asking for assistance. Parents are asked to RSVP.
If you haven't looked at our Hummingbird/Butterfly Garden, which we started during Spring Break, you should! It is coming along very nicely. Several species of butterflies have already been spotted dining on some of the nectar. Hopefully we will continue to see some new visitors!
CRCT is over! As soon as scores are received by the administration they will be given to students/parents. All 5th graders MUST pass the Math & Reading portion of the CRCT. Summer school will begin in June and last until July. More info to follow when scores are received.
Sadly, the end of the school is fast approaching. Thank you so much for your wonderful support and all that you have done for me and LES this school year. Good Luck in Middle School! |

Hurricane Happenings!
Wow! School is almost over! Please check the school grounds for the 10 new saplings our class has planted, plus the over 19 trees we planted to replaced the dying oaks and maples! Our class has planted 10 saplings (2 each of Golden Rain Tree, White Dogwood, Eastern Redbud, Flowering Crabapple, & Washington Hawthorne). We also planted in the fall of last year over 12 elm's, 5 magnolias, and 5 crepe myrtles. Our next project, hopefully before the end of the school year, is to replace the broken wooden benches at the Pavillion with new plastic coated yellow & red benches. Students love doing things like this, and I enjoy working with them to instill pride in our school. |

Please keep saving and sending in those Campbell Soup labels and Boxtops for Education! Every penny helps, just ask our PTO!
Donate used ink cartridges and cell phones to our Media Center! Materials for the school are bought with these donations!
Also, the large green bin behind our school is for recycling newspapers! As a school we should be filling that container at least twice a month. |
