Dolly Walker Morris officially began her career as a young teenager in Ninety Six, South Carolina. While serving cones at the local Dairy Queen and cleaning rental properties, she quickly understood the value of education with regard to advancement in the workplace. Upon high school graduation, she enrolled at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science in 1987. Dolly spent ten years working in business, mostly human resource management and training, with a large construction and engineering firm. In 1991, she moved to Augusta and soon obtained an education degree from Augusta State University. Currently, she is in her eleventh year of teaching in the public school system and will graduate with a Master’s Degree in Education this May. Over the years, Dolly has taught grades K-8 in both Georgia and South Carolina. She is married with one daughter. This is Dolly’s first year in the role of Graduation Coach at Greenbrier Middle School; however, she has been in Columbia County schools for six years. |
