The M.O.N.K.E.Y. Notebook (Most Organized Notebook Keeping Everything that is Yours) contains the sections listed below. Entries are made daily so please look at all of the sections on a regular basis. Please use the pocket inside the front cover to send lunch money.
*Clear Plastic Sleeves
An introduction to the M.O.N.K.E.Y. Notebook, our daily schedule, our class rules, a monthly calendar with important school events (if date is known at the time the calendar goes out), and a roster will be included in this section.
*Folders
Folder 1 (blue) – Important Papers
The left hand pocket of this folder will contain permission slips, flyers, etc. Please be sure to place signed permission slips back into the folder in the left side.
The right hand pocket of this folder will be used for home/school communication. This is where notes to and from school will be placed concerning dismissal, absences, classroom wishes, concerns, and other comments. Please check this daily.
Folder 2 (yellow) – Behavior/Homework
The left hand pocket of this folder will contain a homework sheet and a behavior calendar. Please initial the behavior calendar sheet daily. The calendar will help us keep track of how much MONKEY MONEY your child has earned. Both sheets are to remain in the left side of the folder until Mrs. Bonner or myself remove them. Each week your child will receive a new homework sheet.
The right hand pocket of this folder will contain homework to be done and turned in the next day. Please help your child to remember to put homework back in this side of the folder when finished or when he/she is not working on it.
*Dividers
Divider 1
This section will be used for graphic organizers and study guides.
Divider 2
This section will be used for notebook paper so that your child always has access to paper for homework, etc.
Folder 3 (red) – Reading Renaissance
This folder will contain your child’s reading log and tops report. These items will remain in this folder the entire year.
