Classroom News |
Reading: We will be learning about literature circles and how to use them in the classroom. We will also work on cause and effect using the story- Balto
Math: We are starting on multiplication. PLEASE study the facts with your child nightly.
English: We are learning about subjects and predicates, the different types of sentences, and how to write a complete sentence and compound sentences. The students are getting subjects and predicated confused. We are reviewing this daily.
Science: -We are working on habitats. We will be studying the habitats in Georgia.
Writing: We are working in Write Traits. The students are learning how to create a graphic organizer to write a paragraph. They are learning what needs to be included in a paragraph to make it more interesting.

AR |
The students have taken the STAR test and I have given them their reading levels and point goals for the 9 weeks. I will send home a report with their progress report to let you see how they are doing. They are able to take AR tests. When they complete an AR test they are also taking a vocabulary test.
The AR party is scheduled for October 15th.
The students have to meet their AR goal as well as the percentage correct goal to attend the party.

Field Trip |
Our first field trip will be to Phinizey Swamp on October 3rd. We will be learning about animal's habitats. This is an outdoor field trip, so have your student dress for the weather.
If you would like to chaperone on the field trip, please let me know. |

Carnival |
The carnival is set for October 11th.
Our game is bean bag toss.
The theme for our basket is "Family Night"
