Classroom Policies
Behavior expectations in my classroom follow Columbia County's Code of Conduct.

Every student needs appropriate materials for class each day : textbook (or novel), paper, pencil/pen, notebook with notes.

Late work is not accepted unless it was a medical emergency. Tests, projects, and papers are not optional assignments. These are required, even if they are not completed on time. A zero on these is not an option because they are test grades.

Students should arrange appointments with me to make up work or to get help with an assignment. I am here to help. An ideal time is when I am monitoring the peer tutoring on Tues. and Thurs with the National Honor Society. Otherwise, we will work out something else.

Students must participate in class. Sleeping, reading or working on another class's assignments, or refusing to work are all grounds for willful refusal in the classroom. I will contact parents, counselors, and administrators to make sure each student receives the full benefit from each class session.

For students who are struggling with a low average in a previous nine week grade, I will arrange a Grade Contract and will make every effort to help students. The student is ultimately responsible for his own effort and his own average.
