Week of January 5-9, 2009
Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday! I want to thank all of you for making our classroom Christmas party so much fun. The children enjoyed the games, food, and treats. It was fantastic. Thank you so much for all your support. Also, I want to thank you for all the gifts. They were very much appreciated.
We are back to our regular routine. We will have our spelling test on Friday. The spelling words and vocabulary words are listed below. We will be reading The Fox and the Stork in language arts.
We will be rotating for math class once again. We have changed the groups that the teachers will be teaching. The math-timed test will be on Friday. Please have your child study math facts to 20. I will give the children about 30 problems to do in 4-5 minutes. The children really enjoy the timed tests and get very good with their math facts.
We will be starting a study of the weather in science. We will also be talking about the New Year and our resolutions in social studies.
