Homework:

Monday - Read for 20 minutes, study vocabulary words, finish vocabulary sheet
Tuesday - Read for 20 minutes, study vocabulary words, write a sentence with each vocabulary word
Wednesday - Read for 20 minutes, study vocabulary words, reread story
Thursday - Read for 20 minutes, study vocabulary words, reread story answer questions at the end
Friday - Read for 20 minutes

Test over vocabulary and story on Friday.

Spelling test Friday.


This year you do not have a spelling book to use to help you learn your spelling words. In place of the spelling book, the list below will be used for homework. I encourage you to study every evening to be sure you are ready for Friday's test.
* Alphabetize the words
* Divide the words into syllables - please use the dictionary
* Write each word with the consonants in one color and the vowels in another color
* Make a set of flash card to study the words
* Use each word in a sentence, underline the spelling word
* Write the words and an antonym or synonym for the word
* Type the words 3 times on a computer and print it out
* Cut the words out of a magazine/newspaper and glue them onto a sheet of paper
* Write a story using the words, underline the spelling words
* Draw a picture and hide the words in the picture
* Make a cross-word puzzle or a word search using the words
* Write and neatly box in each word, or type words on computer in large font, print out and then box in
* Write a poem or tongue twister using the words
* Classify each word according to its part of speech
* Word sort
* Word triangles
* Word rectangles
* Word roller coasters (3 times each)
* Write each word, one time in print and one time in curxive
* Write each word three times in cursive

We will be reviewing adjectives and nouns.
