Speech and Language |
A speech-language disorder is one in which a communication skill differs in manner or content and calls attention to itself, disrupts communication or affects educational or social performance. There are four primary areas of speech and language disorders: articulation, language, voice and fluency. These disorders occur in 10% of the school-age population. A disorder may be a primary disability or it may be secondary to other disabilities.
If you think your child has an articulation, language, fluency or voice disorder, please contact your child's classroom teacher. S/he will start the Student Support Team process.
If you are new to Blue Ridge Elementary school and your child has an active IEP from another school system within Georgia or any state, please contact the Special Education Administrator.
