PACT Time |
Parents are invited to come to school and spend an hour a month with your child in the classroom. If you are unable to spend a full hour, you can come for 30 minutes two times during the month. Feel free to come anytime during the day except rest time. You can drop me a note to let me know you are coming or come by when you can. Remember to stop by the office to sign in and get a visitor's pass. You will also need to sign in when you come into the classroom. Come join your child and experience a part of our daily routine! (PACT Time will begin after Labor Day.) |
School Supplies |
The supplies your child will need for Pre-K are: 1. A regular size book bag (Not the junior size) 2. A towel for rest (Crib sheets are not needed) 3. A change of clothes with socks Please label all of these items. Please send the clothing in a zip-lock bag with your child's name on the front of the bag. Please encourage your child to leave the towel or blanket at school during the week. Many of them want to carry it home each day. The rest cover will be sent home each Friday for washing. Please return it each Monday.
Folders are provided by the school. If your child loses this folder, you will need to provide the next one. Folders go home every afternoon in the bookbag and come back each morning in the bookbag. This is where all notes are placed as well as any money you are sending to school. Money must be placed in an envelope with your child's name. Please write on the envelope what the money is for and how much is enclosed. Please do not put money in any other part of the bookbag, because we do not look through the entire bookbag.

Clothing |
Please remember to label all jackets, coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, etc. that belong to your child. It is much easier to identify these items when they are labeled. If your child loses an article of clothing, and it is not found in the classroom, please check the "Lost and Found".
Flip-flops and shoes with wheels are not allowed. Crocs and sandals are not recommended. The type of shoe that is recommended for Pre-K students is a sneaker with velcro instead of laces. Pre-K students are very active inside and outside, and a shoe that will stay on but is easy to take off works the best.

Family Literacy Bags |
| One of the most important gifts you can give your child is a love for books. Pre-K students check out family literacy bags each Monday and return them on Friday. Each bag contains a book with suggested activities that are designed to promote literacy development. Each bag contains an activity sheet for your child to do at home. This is the only item from the bag that is not to be returned. Take special care of all items in the bag so that the next child who checks out the bag can also enjoy all the components. We hope you enjoy the family literacy bags and that they will give you new ways to be involved with your child's educational growth. |
Breakfast / Lunch / Snack |
Pre-K students go as a class to breakfast every morning. The cost for breakfast is $1.00. If you don't wish to purchase breakfast, we ask that you send someting for your child to eat while the other students eat. A nutritious, well balanced, hot lunch is provided at a cost of $2.00. We encourage at least a weekly meal ticket be purchased. Students may bring their own lunch. Canned and bottled drinks are not allowed as well as candy. Parents may eat with students. Please let us know in advance so you can be included in the lunch count. You are not allowed to bring food from resturants for you or your child. The cost for an adult lunch is $3.25. Pre-K students have a snack each day provided by the lunchroom. You do not need to send a snack. Please let us know if your child has any allergies.
