For the month of February, fifth graders will learn about five famous Hispanic artists: Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, and Fernando Botero. They represent Mexico, Spain, and Colombia. They will work in groups to reproduce a work of art using oil pastels. Their masterpieces will be on display during the Art and Music Gala in May.
My fifth grade classes, Mrs. White, Mrs. Mamo, and, Mrs. Meaders are competing to earn the most "lempiras" (Lempira was an indian hero), Honduran currency, in order to win a treat at the end of the 9 weeks. Good luck!
