Class Policies and Expectations |
Classroom Rules 1. As an 8th grader, you are expected to behave in a respectful and responsible manner. The learning of of other students will not be impaired. All rules and guidelines set forth in the Lakeside Middle school Student Handbook and the Columbia County Code of Conduct will be followed and enforced at all times. 2. Arrive prepared and on time for class. You will not be allowed to return to your locker for books, supplies, etc. All students are expected to bring pens, pencils, textbooks, paper, homework, assignments, and their student planner to class each day. 3. When in doubt, consult the Lakeside Middle School Handbook, the Columbia County Code of Conduct, or your teacher.
Consequences 1st Offense–Verbal Warning 2nd Offense–Student/Teacher Conference (silent lunch) 3rd Offense–Parent/Guardian Contact (phone, note, E-mail) 4th Offense–Disciplinary Referral to Administrator
Attendance/Absences If you are absent, it is your responsibility to ask for missed work. All tests, quizzes, and assignments must be made-up within a timely manner.
Grades Tests 40% Quizzes 20% Daily/Homework 20% Exam 20%
Cheating Cheating on a test or quiz, copying another student’s homework, or other forms of dishonesty will result in the student receiving a zero on the test, quiz, or assignment. Parents will be notified and a disciplinary referral will be sent to an administrator.
