Email is without question the best method of contacting me. Email early and often. I will try to respond within 24 hours unless traffic is unusually heavy.

Biography:
Teaching is my second career. A recovering Evans Knight, I graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in marketing. From there, I embarked upon a 13 year career in sales and marketing. In that time I was successful as an international marketing director, as a financial planner, and as a leasing director. My experience in the financial and global markets has given me a unique perspective on economics that I try to bring into the classroom. Teaching history affords me the opportunity to pursue my favorite subject on a daily basis. History not only provides us with better-than-fiction stories but also helps clarify the present and our role within it.

I started teaching with the arrival of my twins, Alex and Ashley, who provide me with an unending source of comic classroom material. My wife, Veronica, is an Adjunct Professor in the English Department at Augusta State University, a career opportunity she took on after 13 years as an English teacher at Evans High School (It's ok. I stayed married to her). I am an AVID UGA Bulldog fan, which has caused me to shave my head due to the number of gray hairs and actual hair loss that this has caused over the years.

Teaching Objectives:
Outside the usual course objectives, I have three overriding goals for myself and my students.

1. Help students develop the essential qualities necessary to become productive adults. Among these qualities are: Accountability, Awareness, Work Ethic, Organization, and Communication.

2. Help students solve problems and effectively develop, support, and communicate their ideas.

3. Help students pursue excellence in all aspects of their lives and to thereby help HHS become an educational standard in Columbia County and in the state.
