Prepared And Learning all Year |
Dear Parents, No more papers crumpled in the bottom of the book bags! No more hunting for lunch money or important notes! The P.L.A.Y. Book is here! The P.L.A.Y. Book (Prepared and Learning All Year) contains the sections listed below. Entries are made daily so please look at all of the sections on a regular basis. All lunch money and notes will need to be placed in the front of the folder on the notebook. This will be the only place we will look for these items!
1. Clear Plastic Sleeves
An introduction to the PLAY Book, our daily schedule, school calendar, a list of class rules, and a homework helper will be located in some of the sleeves. We will use the remaining sleeves later in the year.
2. Folders
Blue-Homework Folder This folder is used to copy homework on a weekly chart. Children will be responsible for copying it down each day. Students will load their homework in this folder daily. Homework may be worksheets, alphabetical order, sentences, stories, English lessons, drill sheets, reading, etc. Some homework may need to be done on notebook paper.
Red-Reading Renaissance Folder (A.R.) This folder will contain your child’s reading log and goals. This folder will be removed from the PLAY Book only if they have a test to take that day and place it in the AR basket. Your child will fill out his/her reading log.
Yellow-Signed Papers This folder will contain your child’s weekly signed papers. We will send home graded papers on Monday. Please review your child’s work and send it back, with a signature, by Wednesday. If you would like to keep the papers longer, please send me a note. You will get all the papers sent back to you at the end of each 9 weeks.
Green- Extra This folder will bring home daily class work. Please remove and review these papers nightly. Also, look for notes from school in this folder.
3. Tabs
*Behavior chart- Please check daily and sign.
*Spelling list Each sheet will have three weeks of words. Each column is dated so your child will know which words to study. As we complete a list, you may want to lightly mark them out..
*Notebook paper for lessons Please always keep paper in the section for your child.
Thank you, Laura Paulos Leigh Rountree
