CURRICULUM
"DAYS WITH FROG AND TOAD"
Our story for the week of September 10-14, 2007 is "DAYS WITH FROG AND TOAD." Toad finds a note from his friend Frog saying that he has gone off to be alone. Toad thinks that Frog must be feeling sad or that Frog may not want to see him. Frog assures Toad that he wanted to be alone just to think about how happy he is to have Toad for a friend. SUBJECTS ENGLISH: We will begin our study of naming parts (subjects) of sentences.
The naming part (subject) of a sentence tells who or what the sentence is about.
Naming parts (subjects) can name two people or things.
The word and is used to join them.
MATH: We will begin Chapter 4 ADDITION STRATEGIES.
SPELLING: We will spell words with the Spelling Patterns -ed (y to i).
SOCIAL STUDIES: We will continue Unit 1, "GEORGIA'S PAST."
ASSESSMENTS ENGLISH: Writing and indentifying name parts(subjects).
MATH: Students will be asked to recognize vocabulary and do the review concepts.
SPELLING: Spelling of Spelling Words, High Frequency Words and Word Wall Words
SOCIAL STUDIES: Vocabulary words and concepts
HOMEWORK:
Monday-Spelling/vocabulary
Tuesday- Math / English
Wednesday-English/Math, study for spelling pretest
Thursday- Study for assessments
Friday-Assessments
