About Me

| This is my 8th year of teaching and my 7th year of teaching here at Lakeside Middle School. It is my first year to teach 6th grade Language Arts, and I am really excited about this opportunity. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2000 with a B.S.Ed. in Middle School Education. In May of 2004, I received my Masters degree from Augusta State University. I am certified in Middle School Mathematics, Middle School Language Arts, K-12 Gifted, and K-12 English to Speakers of Other Languages. I am in my third year towards a PhD in Middle School Education at the University of Georgia. I plan to complete this degree in the Fall of 2008. This is my 2nd year to work half time in order to spend more time on my PhD classes. |

I got married on July 10, 2004 to Jeff Pettit, a chemical engineer at Augusta Newsprint Company. We are expecting a baby boy, Gavin, on October 4! I also have a dachshund/beagle mix named Luna. |
