Mrs. Pettit¡¦s 6th Grade Language Arts Contract
Welcome to Mrs. Pettit¡¦s Language Arts Class! I am so excited to have your child in my class this year, and I look forward to all of the new things we will be doing in Language Arts. As you are probably aware, we have recently changed our curriculum to be in line with the new Georgia Performance Standards. Please feel free to view the curriculum at: www.georgiastandards.org.
I will be posting general plans about each week on my webpage. Once they have updated the list for the new year, the link can be found at http://www.ccboe.net/lms/faculty.html. Please check this frequently to stay updated on upcoming tests, quizzes, assignments, etc. In addition, please check your child¡¦s planner for daily homework, assignments, or notes from me.
As we begin this new and exciting year together your help will be needed to ensure your child¡¦s success in the classroom. Please take a moment to look over my policies with your child, sign the form below, and return to me on Wednesday, August 15 for a homework check. ƒº
1. Classroom Rules: Be Polite, Be Punctual, Be Prepared, and Be Productive. I ask that all students come to class with pencil or pen, paper, notebook, and ready to work.
2. Homework: Homework will be given Monday-Thursday with few exceptions. I will check homework frequently without warning.
3. Grading: The grades in the classroom will be:
Tests 40%
Quizzes 30%
Classwork 15%
Homework 15%
