Chorus and General Music |
Welcome all chorus students and parents! I am delighted to have you participate in the Chorus and General Music program! We will have a very busy year and I anticipate a great one!! Please feel free to contact me anytime for questions or concerns. I will constantly keep you updated about events and dates and the progress your students are making. Please check with your students often for letters that I send home and specifically the choral calendar. Please see my classroom rules and choral calendar below.
General Music: This class involves the learning of all levels of music except these students do not perform for an audience like chorus or band. They will however be graded on musical concepts we discuss and they will have the opportunity to play instruments. They are required to keep a notebook as part of their grade and it must remain in the class with their pencils. We will be learning how to play guitar, keyboard, recorder, and rhythm sticks. We will also study about musical theory and history. We will learn about musical composition and songwriting as well as musical maps through our textbooks. These are just a few of the scheduled lessons for the nine weeks. Please make sure that you and your student understand the classroom rules. Please make sure that all General Music students and parents sign the yellow paper that I sent home regarding classroom rules and agenda, and return it promptly.
